Her eyes are Times Square;
Mine are rural North Korea.
I’m not a city person,
But she’s shaken that idea
With one glance she dug a hole,
In a blink she poured the concrete,
Now the buildings fill the space
And replace my safe retreat.

I like this modern metaphorical rendition of Green Acres. Except there, the farm won over Time Square.
This is a nice exposition of the tug and pull of relationships between two very different kinds of people

Ah–I never even thought of Green Acres–a fine lens to view the poem through. Thanks for your interpretation; I really appreciate hearing how a poem strikes a reader
