In My Own Little Corner

Corner me to your own peril
Place me in a room so sterile
Walls white, floor white, lights bright
This incandescent fluorescence
No clock, no, no time at all
My shadows are so very tall!
Death gives me a beckoning call
I’ll leave this blanket as my pall
You don’t even need to weep

You can just go back to sleep

Thank you! Word choice and syntax are the poets main tools; either one can make or break a poem–glad these words conveyed the emotions I intended 🙂

I like this. Dark. The last line is my favorite – seems to capture that idea of being desensitized to what’s going on outside of our own selfish sphere…
    Cool.
