Mittens Can’t Fool Me

Hell has frozen over
And it actually seems quite nice
When all the fire and brimstone
Are covered by the ice

The people here seem happy
Though it’s hard to know
Their mouths are always covered
With scarves to mute the snow

Are these the same sad sinners
That drank and smoked and cursed
And threw me ‘cross the country
When I visited them first?

They speak to me in soothing tongues
And cause my heart to doubt
But the people I’ve seen on my ride in
Make me sure that I want out

Your poem is fun and goes well with mine about beings without souls. Thanks for your visit to my blog. I like your humor and form in your poetry. Hugs, pat

Great poem here. Love the image of the fire and brimstone being frozen over. Quirky and a great turn of phrase at the very end.

Thanks! That is a ‘cool’ image isn’t it? Quirky’s a good way to describe this (and me :P) — I’ll definitely drop by your blog again soon. I loved what I’ve seen so far 🙂
