So what,
So tell me
About Ohio.
Love memories that other people narrate,
Love memories that sting
Fling back the heavy curtain–
Fling shut the curtain from feelings sore-stung
By phantoms un-natural young–
So what,
So tell me
About Ohio.

Dirtpiles and speed-bumps
Are the hills–and yet
The land undulates waves of corn
The back roads sting
I don’t understand
This sting of synecdochical means,
Back of my hand
Feels unfamiliar strange–
So what,
So tell me
About Ohio’s
Small change.
