Superman’s Regret

X-ray vision like a dart
Through your boots of Spanish leather
Everything’s coming together
Everything’s falling apart
Tired of seeing the heart
A skeleton-like feather

Tired of seeing what’s in your head
Rather than your face
A bony shroud of lace
Where others see cheeks of red
Covering of the dead
Black and white embrace

Remarkable effect these words have. I’ve not quite worked out how or why. The ending is superb.

I think it would get frustrating having xray vision…I bet it was a regret of Superman’s. Enjoyed the flow and rhyming in this 🙂

I have to agree with Morning, this was extremely powerful and vivid! This part in particular was kind of me…:

    Everything’s coming together,
    Everything’s falling apart,

…however I added, “Finally glued together with powerful, soul strengthening love. It can never fall apart.”
You did a wonderful job of capturing the imagination. Well done. Blessings.
