Hyde & Seek

He creeps around in darkest night
Needing neither lamp nor light
It’s clear he’s alone
He’s all on his own
Lacking both friends and his sight

The blind lead the blind in this plight
Hands clasped firmly to dull the fright
Of unknown forces
From unknown sources
That only he himself can fight

Nicely written. Really liked the line because of the image it immediately struck: “Hands clasped firmly to dull the fright.” Also, the photo is great to go with it.

Thanks! I struggled with that line because it throws off the rhythm, but I kept it because it does have that imagery which I’m glad you picked up on. And thanks also for your comment about the picture. I put a lot of effort into picking a picture that will compliment the poem in some way. 😀
