That’s a nice woolen blindfold you got there

I am a wolf in sheep’s clothing
I drink cotton gin
It doesn’t drown my sorrows
It only borrows
Pleasures from tomorrows
That today will end in pain

Good one and how true! It borrows from tomorrow.

You’re too damn brilliant for not being retirement age. The shorter your pieces are, the harder the punch, it seems.

Haha, thanks! I did work at a retirement community for a little while–perhaps the brilliance rubbed off. Perhaps I should write more short pieces; sometimes, though, I prefer a duller blow. 🙂

I do like short poems. They often pack a punch, as this one does!

Thanks! Wolves are wonderfully poetic–such majestic creatures– so it’s a wonder I haven’t included them in more of my poems. So glad you enjoyed this 🙂
