Do a Barrel Roll

Cheer up!  The body mirrors deprivation;
Fatigue is darkly writ beneath your eyes.
I wish to give you rest and motivation,
But introversion smothers all my tries.

Your bouncing step has recently been broken:
Lead feet now dragging sad across the rug.
I hope you find some comfort in these spoken
Words–a verbal form of symbiotic hug.

      Thank you! Poetry can sometimes gloss over feelings in a darkening shroud, but it can also reveal the poet’s heart more clearly. I’m so glad you found this to be the latter 🙂
