I Picked You

Not those flowers

Beneath the sign that says no smoking
The illegal female stands,
A regal blend of grim and joking,
A garden in her hands:
One rose hints her passion,
Two tulips kiss compassion,
Three carnations show her joy,
Four lilies leave her coy,
Five daises brush her cheek–
Sixteen flowers make me weak.

excellent as always. love the playfulness within the structure. it’s like the form enhances your freedom with words! that’s crazy! (crazy awesome.)

Lovely. I can see the damsel smoking and holding her flowers.

Thanks! I had pictured her as a smoking damsel rather than a damsel smoking, but I failed to convey that distinction, haha. Either way, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
