        Kudzu! I remember Kudzu from my years in Georgia. It could swallow the telephone poles. Boy. It’s nothing compared to English Ivy and Himalayan Blackberries in NW Oregon. Those overwhelm full-grown forests and acres of fields.

          It’s swallowed up entire forests in a green tsunami of destruction. At least it doesn’t have thorns like the Himalayan Blackberries. But at least those have fruit.

            Wow. I didn’t remember this size of overgrowth. But this was decades ago. I probably didn’t notice invasive non-natives like I do now. There’s nothing like spending decades trying to save fir trees (over and over) from English ivy to make it register on your brain. And keeping the blackberries hacked back is gruesome work with no end.
